I was looking for a way to support a recent issue report, requesting a “rescue my Qubes” boot option in grub allowing usb keyboard in dom0. I often wished for this in the past. It is particularly useful for new users who have just installed.
Looking back in the forum, I see quite a high load of users rebooting to find no qube will start, or usb devices are not available. I have put some links below.
Disk space in the pool is the big one. From my memory, passthrough and Strict reset errors in sys-usb also appear occasionally.
Are there other rescue options which might be useful?
- Should it be “skip autostart” AND allow usb kb in Dom0?
- A
nomodesetone for some of the “black screen” after install cases? I wished for this, also. - Others?
A few forum posts from the last 30 days:
- Disk full - not clear if a sys-usb keyboard was blocked
- disk full +usb KB fail
- other sys-usb failure to start
- Denied Qubes.USB - #4 by Jnuar
- Mouse not available after shutdown
Mouse failure only - not clear why sys-usb is not on auto-start
