CPU Bugs with Intel(R) N95 and Possible Security Vulnerabilities

I recently bought a laptop with the intent of installing Cubes OS on it. It has the following specs.

Processor: Intel(R) N95
Memory: 16 GB DDR4 RAM
Storage: 512 GB SSD

It seems to satisfy the minimum requirements. I didn’t see a report of the same CPU in the hardware compatibility list, but I was willing to take a leap for the sake of science. I’ve experienced some issues installing Cubes OS 4.2.3, and I hope they can be resolved :crossed_fingers:

After running cat /proc/cpuinfo I found-out that the CPU has the following bugs:

  • spectre_v1
  • spectre_v2
  • spec_store_bypass
  • swapgs
  • rfds
  • bhi

Two questions for any security experts out there:

  1. Are these bugs a security concern?
  2. If so, is there recommended hardware that does not share similar vulnerabilities?

Please upload your HCL report. It would be interesting to see

Every bug is a security concern, but it’s how they’re mitigated that counts more.
