So Xfce Terminal has a tranparent background option. I love it but sadly because of the nature of VM’s the background behind the background is black. Is there any way to change that?
You may have some success using picom in dom0 with its own transparency/blur effects, but I haven’t tested it out.
It purposely blocks picom on a qube that I know strictly because it breaks the Qubes security.
You can use Devilspie2 to make the windows transparent.
With a name like Devilspie2 I can’t with any consideration install with confidence. I mean I get the humor of open source devs but that name invites me to not. Simply because it is a troll name. Oh how I wish I read code.
Would you not install GIMP for that same reason?..
I have literally tried to pass on gimp for that same reason but finally capitulated. I am also in the kink space naturally so that doesn’t bother me so much. It’s just poor marketing and I don’t want transparent backgrounds that badly. I do like it because I can overlay instructions and continue to bang away at the term but meh.
