Update: Upgrading to the newest kernel version does not fix the issue.
(6.13.7-1)
Could you describe the problem in more detail? Without logs or something like serial console output, it’s like fishing in the dark.
No. I’m sorry. I don’t have any of those. But you could start a topic asking if anyone has a working setup with that particular CPU.
The only console output I’m aware of is the first screenshot that fuckedup sent.
Is there any way to get more detailed output?
My current CPU is a Ryzen 9 7900x
I have found a similar post which could help:

As written above: experiment with
Will be experimenting, but is using an older kernel version an issue?
I read this on this post: Previous link
You can remove all
kernel-latest
kernels and use the stablekernel
that has version 6.6.x and it should work for you.
Would this be a security issue?
If you consider a non functioning system to be a DenialOfService attack, I’d say, I’ll take the risk.
For now, I have
Increased the
installonly_limit
value on/etc/dnf/dnf.conf
to5
as mentioned on post: https://forum.qubes-os.org/t/installing-older-kernels/569/5
And am testing with kernel version kernel-latest-6.8.6
to see if the issue continues.
Update:
Issue is present on kernel version
kernel-latest-6.8.6
Current temporary solutions:
Using kernel version
6.6.77-1
to avoid issues on startup after entering encryption password. Sticking to stable kernel versions temporarily until fix is found.(Removing kernel-latest versions downloaded for experimentation)
Future actions:
Experimenting with https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/uefi-troubleshooting/
all works fine actually?
Github xhci
he has excatlly same hardware as me, u think download 6.6.x kernel will help me?

This is a temporary solution to a problem that I will need to look into to fix.

I think that if you downloaded Qubes OS, then the stable kernel I am referring to is already downloaded by default, simply navigate to the second option on boot and select kernel version 6.6.77-1
.
In “Advanced options for Qubes” menu press enter on “Xen hypervisor …” and there will be a list of boot options with different kernel versions.
If it isn’t downloaded, then download it with these commands in the dom0 terminal, refer to this post: https://forum.qubes-os.org/t/i-type-my-disk-password-in-then-just-stuck-on-loading/29013/29
sudo qubes-dom0-update kernel
Should install the older stable kernel, if not, you can specify kernel version 6.6.77-1
.
sudo qubes-dom0-update kernel-latest-6.6.77
If you’d like to go a step further and ensure that in the long term you will keep this working kernel version as a backup, then do these commands:
Increase the
installonly_limit
value on/etc/dnf/dnf.conf
to5
as mentioned on post: Installing older kernels - #5 by nisenycyeq226
sudo nano /etc/dnf/dnf.conf
Modify the file as you please, do CTRL+O to save, and CTRL+X to exit
Edit since I can’t make new replies (I just made this account):

In my opinion, the hardware is still not ideal. If you search the Asrock forums, you’ll find very similar reports (also from 2025) that suggest fundamental instability …
