Qubes 4.3 r4 - inconsistent installation - sys-bluetooth missing

Hello,

While i am reinstalling the same ISO (usb-install) onto the same system.
there was an inconsistency during installation.

previously, i had a Bluetooth AppVM created during various installations.
this last installation, it was not created…
(note: i do not recall an option to install sys-bluetooth)

is there a way to recreate the bluetooth AppVM post-install ?

thanks

Hi @curious_cat_8P ,
a sys-bluetoth Qube is not (and was not) part of the default created VMs.
see additionally Installation guide — Qubes OS Documentation

I must have stepped into another dimension - it am quite sure that it was created in a previous installation.

I never had a “sys-bluetooth”. I have been using QubesOS since version
4.1 days, and I only recall having:

  • sys-usb
  • sys-net
  • sys-firewall
  • sys-whonix

Thanks for confirmation -

The Bluetooth device is held by sys-usb, if you want to use audio (from Bluetooth or not), there is a guide to create a sys-audio Qube. By default sound is from Dom0 and Bluetooth in sys-usb so it does not mix well together.

A link to the guide in question, if you need it: Audio qube. ; )
