I have a HP Envy 4527 printer/scanner and i plugged it in via USB and then i directed it to a offline Qube where i normally connect my externeal SSD drives with all my files on and i went in settings - services i clicked on cups and ticked it but still No printer action available and i dont want to download any proprietary software just need to scan and print natively as i did before without needing any HP specific software as i dont want the printer to ever go online as need it to be doumb like me please help?

You can check if the printer is present from the perspective of cups by visiting localhost:631 in your browser in the offline qube or by executing lpstat -p -d.

Your printer might be just sitting there waiting to be configured.

Also, as far as I know HP printers have open-source drivers - hplip. These drivers are present in both fedora and debian repositories.
