Installing Qubes 4.2.0 on System76 Darter Pro (darp10) - Boot freezes at "Started accounts-daemon.service - Accounts Service"

The problem is in the title. Any ideas?

I first thought this might be related to some sys-net/sys-firewall starting failures, earlier in the boot process. However after redoing the Qubes install from scratch and unchecking the “sys-net” box, yes those errors went away but it’s still getting stuck at “Accounts Service”.

Any ideas?

Downloading the latest (as of Nov 22, 2024) Qubes 4.2.3 installer and selecting “Install Qubes 4.2.3 using latest Kernel 6.10.x” from the GRUB boot menu did the trick!

I guess it’s simply because Darter Pro (darp10) is a very recent (mid 2024) laptop with certain Intel Meteor Lake etc. stuff that only the recent kernels started supporting.
