How to control title-bar, tool-bar of windows and icons of menu-bar

I have difficulty with small letters/icons and thin frame. My installation of qubes os has fedra-template without debian-template.

I used

Dom0 (Applications)---->System Tools —> Appearance
Style: Greybird-dark
    I unset Xfwm4 theme. (Setting it makes window title bar even thinner.)
Icon: Gnome (default Gnome Theme)
Font: Sans Regular 12, Monospace Regular 12
    Custom DPI settings: 144
Settings: Enlarge windows (2 x)

Dom0 (Applications)---->System Tools —> Window Manager
Theme: Default
Title Font: Sans Bold 20 (I also tried switching to Sans Italic.)

Dom0 (Applications)---->System Tools —> Panel (Xfce4-panel ?)
Appearance:
    Icon: Automatically Adjusting Size (Enabled)

I use the xfce4-terminal --restart to make some of the settings to be reflected.

I tried disabling Adjustment. Icon of the speaker and battery change size.

I need help in two aspects.

I need to change the height of window title bar containing “[Dom 0] Terminal …” and similar things. The lower half of the title is invisible. I tried a suggested solution of the forum.

https://superuser.com/questions/596647/how-to-control-the-height-of-the-title-bar-in-xfce

I edited /usr/share/themes/Greybird-dark/xfwm4/themerc. This file contains the lines

title_vertical_offset_active=2
title_vertical_offset_inactive=2

I changed the numbers to 40 and I added the line

frame_border_top=40

Still, I could not solve the issue.

Do I need something for reflecting the edit? I switched themes (on Appearance) after saving the modified text to themerc. (It seems to be themerc instead of themrc.text.)

I want to control the size of letters on the menu-bar by DPI rather than by the multiplier ‘2 x’. I tried 192 DPI and 288 DPI with the multiplier set back to ‘1 x’. Letters got larger. However, the lower half of the letter were hidden. The icons on the menu-bar is too small. I also tried Xfce4-panel --> Appearance --> Icon --> Fixed size of Icon -> 24. The icons were too small.

How can I set the height of the menu-bar to reflect the fontsize?

How can I change the icon-size?

Currently, the main issue is efficiency while I setup qubes/applications. Setting numbers directly is OK for me.

I also tried the three lines.

export GDK_SCALE=2
export GDK_DPI_SCALE=1
firefox

Firefox was nice except the height of the title-bar “[work] Fedora Start | The Fedora Project Mozilla Firefox” is too small hiding the lower half of the title.

This method did not work for xfce4-terminal.

I tried

xrdb -query | grep Xft.dpi
echo Xft.dpi: 144 | xrdb -merge
xrdb -query | grep Xft.dpi

from How to control the height of the title bar in xfce?

I am trying to solve the height of title-bar (like “[Dom0] Terminal…”) by Windows Manager.

  • Q->Gear Symbol-> Window Manager
    • Theme->Default-xhdpi or Default-hdpi

I meant xfce4-panel --restart.

The adjustment of the height of the menu-bar to the scale 2x became automatic after I updated dom0 and fedra-43-xfce, followed by start of all App Qubes, shutdown of PC and start of PC.

I hope the updates contained correction to this issue.

This was not reproducible.

I started Qubes OS again. I found the lower half of letter of the menu-bar were hidden.

I also changed the settings of Appearance following the user guide.

I set appearance → Settings → Window Scaling ->“2x”.
