I need to be able to write in Chinese at times, which right now I don’t know how to do in Qubes. I don’t really care whether it is specific to a qube or for the entire system, I just need to be able to switch from English input to Chinese input and back again as needed. I noticed that I can change the keyboard layout, but that doesn’t do what I need it to. I need to be able to actually write Chinese characters.
Is there a guide or anything on this?
Check the Chinese section of this forum. There should be something there.
Translation work is being done to make it accessible to people who can’t understand Chinese, because the guides contain common steps that are useful for other languages too.

specifically, installing ibus-libpinyin in the template of apps you want to use it in. or try UIM or fcitx5 (i haven’t tried either).
