Unable to launch AppVM windows due to X11 error messages:

Xt error: Can’t open display

You will sometimes see this when permissions are an issue (e.g trying to
open root terminal in certain cases.)
Which AppVMs are affected, what templates do they use, and how are you
attempting to launch the windows?

I never presume to speak for the Qubes team. When I comment in the Forum or in the mailing lists I speak for myself.
