When creating a Standalone Qube based on the whonix-workstation template and setting sys-whonix as its net-vm, the gateway address will be sys-firewall.
It still runs on sys-whonix though, so might be a glitch.
But if you set “no network” when creating the Standalone, and then change the net-vm to “sys-whonix” after creating it, the gateway address will be sys-whonix
Can you run through the steps that you took in enough detail that we can
reproduce this.
Can you also explain what you mean by:
“the gateway address will be sys-firewall”
“It still runs on sys-whonix”
Thanks
I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.
When I comment in the Forum I speak for myself.
I clicked “New qube” on the manager, chose “Standalone”, clicked “template or standalone qube” for cloning (whonix-workstation-18), set network to “sys-whonix” and finished
Now when checking “settings” for this qube on the manager, on “net qube” the gateway is sys-firewall’s address, it should be sys-whonix’
To reproduce this create a standalone qube based on whonix-workstation and set the net qube to “sys whonix”, then check its gateway on the settings and it will be sys-firewall’s address instead of sys-whonix
