With an extra USB WiFi reciever is it possible to make two WiFi connections simultaneously?

Hello all
I was wondering if it was possible in QubesOS to connect to two wifi access points simultaneously if I got a USB wifi reciever like this https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/adapter/tl-wn725n/. So one appvm would be connected to WiFi access point 1 with the inbuilt wifi reciever, and then another appvm connected to Wifi access point 2 with the USB wifi receiver?

I am guessing I would have to setup two sys-net qubes but was wondering how drivers would work? Has this ever been tried?

Many times. You will have to ensure that USB pass through is working when
you attach the receiver to the qube, and relevant drivers are installed
in the template used.
Alternative is to attach the USB controller that you use for this
directly to the qube.

You don’t actually need to have a second sys-net - you can do this in
one with some smart routing, but it’s cleaner and somehow more Qubes
like to have separate paths, as you suggest.

I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.

Thanks unman.
Sounds good. Do you have any ideas on which wifi dongle is compatible? I was thinking of this one

and this one

but I don’t know if any of these are compatible with QubesOS?

Although I am guessing that only these are compatible

After a bit of extra research it seems that tp link are unreliable/keep changing chipset. I guess I could use one of the cheap rt5370 ones off of aliexpress? Only 150mb per second but that will do for me. Or maybe even the PAU0B AC600 for dual band?

Or maybe even these

I have used cheap ones.

yes I will give a cheap one a go. I’ll make a post about how it works when I get it on how/if it works.
