Windows communicating with a fedora machine app

Im using a fedora 40 template on an app machine that has an app that id like to host and access when away from my network. The app was developed using python3 in a fedora40 environment. My laptop is a windows 11 machine. If i open the firewall settings needed, set it to only allow my laptop with my MAC address to connect to the app and even then only over the vpn connection we have established will my laptop be able to use the application? I need to change the database to postgresql since it was originally developed for a stand alone app using sqlite. i am reading the firewall sections of the qubes documentation now just curious if anyone had input.

Iā€™d recommend to setup a VPN to reach this qube.

ive got dynamic dns and a vpn to connect my external device to my machine. Ill have to do some research on how to get the external machine to automatically connect to the app and be able to use it. I would like to also be able to make the app mobile capable as well. any thoughts on how this could be accomplished?
