WINDOWS 11 - Install as a template or as APP, the best solution

Hi,
my next task is to install a Windows 11 environment to run a few applications, where no equivalent LINUX app is available. The data storage requirements are only a few Gigabytes and a large or heavy processing power is really not required.

What is the easiest way to install Windows 11- as template or directly as app ??

I am very much interesting about your arguments and I appreciate your valuable input very much. Many thanks in advance for your kind participation in discussing this matter.

Did you check the qubesos docs first? Do you understand what is possible with QubesOS + Windows 11 installations? Perhaps what you mean by “template or as APP” is not possible yet.

Just saying in order to propel you to help yourself with the available materials. From the way it seems, without further specifications, your question is more like “help me do my homework.”

Thanks for your link…I will watch the video prior to installation.

Well, thank you for your contribution.

I do my homework by myself.

All I wanted to discuss the pros and cons of the various possibilities for implementing the Windows11 environment prior to start “my homework”.

AFAIK, you can’t make Windows templates, but you could install one and clone it every time you need a separate windows qube

A disposable template should be possible though.

edit: I was wrong, see replies below

You can with QWT:

Qubes Windows Tools (QWT) | Qubes OS

Installing Windows as a standalone or as a template is identical. The only difference comes when you try to install QWT: For a template, it is advisable to activate the option Move User Profiles, which will, with some luck, put C:\Users to Q:\Users, helping to create AppVMs.

Thank you for your kind responses…i will try to realize it during the weekend…

I am not able to properly read this. How it is not possible to create template, while it is possible to create disposable template (tested at least with win7 that I am aware of)? Or, how it is possible to create disposable template without template?

It seems I was wrong  I’ll edit my post.
