It feels like a rather stupid question but I noticed that even though I keep my templates up to date, my tor browser in my default disposable whonix workstation is always outdated (now 15.0.8 instead of 15.0.20).
I feel that’s just because the whonix updates are a bit behind the official tor browser updates and as long as these are not security sensitive updates that’s not a big issue.
However I want to rule out that I have a general problem with my updates and make sure I don’t run outdated qubes. If my system qubes would be not updates that would be really bad.
Can someone more experiences calm my nerves?

Wish I could, but my whonix tor browser in qubes is up to date at 15.0.20. Try running the Tor Browser Downloader app in your whonix-workstation-18 template…
Thank you for the fast reply. Running the Tor Browser Downloader fix the issue in the disposable workstation. However I am worried that there is a wider issue with my updates. I am especially concerned about my whonix gateway being outdated. Is there a good way to ckeck that? If I run tor --version in the terminal of my gateway qube I get Tor version 0.4.9.11 Not sure if that is good
Can someone check what they have? Or is there a better way to check if it is up to date?
Same, and I update routinely, but I’d still independently verify that’s the most up to date version in whonix stable.
btw, I usually manually update tor browser whenever I see the green dot. I don’t wait for whonix to include the update..
okay that’s however a relief. I will check if my other qubes are up to date but at least there is hope that the issue was only the disposable workstation template.

My default firefox version is 140.14.0esr (64-bit). Do you guys have this version too? There is a newer one out there. If I have an outdated version here too this issue might affect my whole OS not just my whonix qubes…
