Whonix fails to update (Could not handshake)

Hello,

I get this strange message error when trying to update whonix templates:

user@host:~$ sudo apt-get update

I am suspecting an outage on deb.qubes-os.org, since I am also having troubles updating my Debian template.
Does anyone have a clue about what is going on here ?

Cheers

Yes, this appears to be due to the outage: Yum.qubes-os.org outage

I thought so… I was able to perform a Fedora 33 template update around 6:50AM UTC this morning, but after that, nothing was working anymore.

@adw are you sure? As far as I understand it, whonix uses debian packages, which are not yum.

Maybe I’m wrong, but as I understood from what’s is stated here: Yum.qubes-os.org outage (updates not working) the problem comes from an outage with the hosting provider. It could therefore affect yum.qubes-os.org as well as deb.qubes-os.org.

If that’s the case we better extend the announcement.

-ws updates fine here

Yes, my Debian updates were failing with the same messages during the outage. Now all is working.
