Whonix-17 update failes

Continuing the discussion from [qubes-users] Issues updating whonix:

Found no real answer. Changing time is not an option. Updating Whonix-gateway-17 and Whonix-workstation-17 always fails in dom0-terminal and in the update app.
Only updating in the templates terminal with upgrade-nonroot works normally.

I have been experiencing the same thing with whonix for quite some time. The only way I have found to get it working again is to restart the Tor daemon from the sys-whonix Tor control panel (sometimes several times in a row to make sure the circuits are built correctly).
