What has your experience been with Starlink?

Hello everyone,

I’m thinking about getting Starlink because my Vodafone connection is really bad (the new router hasn’t arrived yet).

What has your experience been with Starlink?

Or should I wait a little longer for the new Vodafone router?

200mbps line was fast 2 years ago, now it’s slower than LTE

Is that because of widespread adoption/use of Starlink in your area? :thinking:
Or just “en-:poop:-ification” of the service?

I have no clue about the delivery times (nor the availability) for Starlink hardware - but it would probably neither be Vodafone nor Starlink that delivers the hardware to your door .. both will most likely rely on a (local) shipping company to deliver their hardware to your door.

As I recall[1], your router should use a DSL line - so as @KitsuneNoBaka wrote, a LTE cell connection might be faster/better than the DSL line .. but that depends on the coverage/distance/topology/?? at your place and is something that would need to be tested. :-/

I called Vodafone again today and asked when the promised router would finally arrive.

It seems I was pressured by a Vodafone employee who wanted me to sign a new contract before he would send me the router I requested.

Then I called again later and was told that I would have to wait another two days until the router I requested arrives.
