Update from Fedora 34

Noobie question; I have Fedora 34 installation of Qubes and am confused as to how to verify and update to the latest version. Do I do it from a template, if so which one? I’ve tried using the software window which always fails to update. Can I even update from 34 to 36 or do I have to get 35 first?

There are two ways:

  • doing a in-place-upgrade of the template, which I wouldn’t prefer, because way 2 is much easier
  • just downloading the current Fedora-35-template with the following command in dom0 terminal:

sudo qubes-dom0-update qubes-template-fedora-35

https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/templates/fedora/#upgrading

Thank you both; can I go straight to 36 from 34 or do I need to update 35 first?

You may go straight from 34 to 36. afaik it should be not problematic, unless you are using r4.0
