The new Qubes 4.2.3 breaks my system GUI. When I update, the login doesn’t appear. It boots , and I can switch to console login. I tried a new installation and the problem is the same. I am on 4.2.2 and it works well. On console login, the command xinit or xstart report “no display found”.
Do you use NVIDIA GPU in dom0?
There were reports about NVIDIA GPU not working with the latest kernel version.
Try using the older (previously working) kernel version in dom0.
Or you can try to use nomodeset
kernel command line option.
when will the nvda gpu/external monitor issue be fixed for latest linux kernel?
It’s better to ask this in the kernel mailing list if it’s a kernel issue. Or search in the kernel mailing list, maybe it was already answered.
If you have GP10x then I guess it’s fixed in the newer kernel version:
So you have to wait for Fedora to provide this new kernel version.

nomodeset
did not help. I will upgrade at the next Qubes version. Thank you all.
