Unable to run commands in sys-net terminal to configure bluetooth

Hello, new to Qubes and Linux and I’ve been trying to get my Bluetooth mouse working (yes Bluetooth, not a wireless dongle). Most of the posts I see regarding this start with running commands in a sys-net terminal. My first issue is that I can’t do this, when I try to use sudo or su or anything else it just prompts me for “login:” which I have no clue about, I haven’t encountered this with any other qubes. I’m pretty new to Linux and obviously missing something, I don’t know what login it’s referring to, is there a way around this so I can get my Bluetooth working?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Are you using a minimal template? Anyway, how are you starting a terminal in sys-net? user should be the answer to the prompt but you shouldn’t see this at all…

The sys-net qube uses the default-dvm template which is debian-12-xfce. As for the console I’m just opening it from the qubes manager.

This is the post I was trying to follow for setting up Bluetooth.

Instead of opening console in qube from Qubes Manager, open the qube’s terminal by clicking on the Qubes Domains widget in tray → sys-net → Run Terminal.
Or run terminal in the qube using Qubes menu.

Figured it out. Open console was opening a disposable qube. Had to open xterm with run command to get a user terminal.

Just type your username (default is “user”) and hit Enter. Console is extremely helpful in situations when qube doesn’t behave as it is expected to.
