When i use ubuntu it only goes up to 1600x900 resolution and if i set it any higher it crashes. Any help is appreciated.
Really need more information before we can help you.
How did you create your ubuntu qube?
What sort of qube is it?
How much memory have you allocated?
It’s quite possible that memory is the answer.
I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.
When I comment in the Forum I speak for myself.
I installed normally from iso and made a standalone qube. 1500-4000mb-8000mb ram was allocated. Linux mint/kali/blackarch/arch linux were all installed and had no crash when i set them at 1920x1080. I must say again it will not go above 1600x900, if anything over that it crashes. I thought this was a simple setup problem that is why i did not include lots of information on this question.
I can confirm issue. I wonder if noble using Wayland is a cause? I’ll
have a poke about if I have time.

Thank you for confirming and thanks for the time put in this.
If you are running Ubuntu without the Qubes GUI agent, I think you need to manually set the vram in the xen.xml config file.
Can you elaborate on this?
Here is an example

I remember having a similar issue with Ubuntu, increasing resolution would crash the desktop, and send me back to the login screen.
Increasing the vram in the xen config solved the issue for me.
