I use debian 13 and I set my icon theme with gtk-3.0/settings.ini and gtk-4.0/settings.ini files and I can change to whatever icon I want for any .desktop app I like… except thunar. It just doesn’t change it.
Is there some special trick for thunar to pick up the .desktop icon?
IIRC there is more than 1 location from where the Qubes GUI gets the icons it shows (there are some in /home/$USER/.local). Maybe another location is overriding it?
Also the GUI shortcuts have “Thunar” and “File Manager”, that could also play into it.
I know about that, it’s not it. Thunar grabs default-folder for whatever reason. I can change even xterm icon but not Thunar’s. madeness
