The First Independent Matrix Homeserver for the Qubes Community is Born!

Why Not Use Telegram or IRC, and Instead Choose an Independent Matrix Homeserver?

I used to manage the qubes chinese telegram group t.me/qubeszh. However, I believe that Telegram, as a centralized social platform, introduces many unstable factors for Qubes users, such as requiring phone number registration.

While IRC is very simple, it does not support viewing chat history and requires additional plugins to achieve this functionality.

We chose not to use the default server provided by Matrix.org. Instead, we built our own independent Matrix homeserver. This ensures that data stays in our own hands. Additionally, Matrix supports end-to-end encryption (E2E), and both the server and client are open-source, which offers a high degree of freedom. This is especially suitable for Qubes users.

What is Qubes.live?

Qubes.live is not a project operated by Qubes OS; rather, it is a non-profit initiative run by me and others. Of course, we hope to gain recognition from Qubes OS and be included on their official website.

Since Qubes OS has a relatively small user base, I hope to centralize the community to facilitate discussions.

Qubes.live provides a secure and privacy-focused environment for discussing topics related to information security. We can discuss Qubes, Whonix, I2P, Tor, Tails, and related topics in real-time in the #chat:qubes.live space. This allows users to communicate quickly within the group without relying solely on forums. Additionally, we promise that there will be no commercial content.
