I have been having graphics/display issues when using latest Qubes OS release on a Librebooted T480 Thinkpad.
The issue:
After logging in to QubesOS for a period of time a specific type of graphic glitch occurs, which is a red/blue/purplish line across the display moving up from the bottom of the display. This is usually followed by a black screen (but not always). A reboot is then required (there is a photo of the glitch in my profile image).
The issue cannot be replicated when running any of the latest major Linux distros (Debian, Fedora, Ubuntu, Kicksecure, Kali, Parrot etc) on the same hardware and stress testing the Intel CPU/GPU in just about every possible way. The issue only occurs when using Qubes.
TODO:
When I have time I will flash back to stock Lenovo BIOS and repeat the same tests.
MORE TESTS:
Flashed back to stock Lenovo BIOS and reinstalled QubesOS. So far have not been able to replicate the glitch - it well and truly would have occurred by now under previous configuration. (Confident it is not some display hardware defect which is always a good thing..:p)
…AND THEN:
Flashed back to Libreboot - will reinstall QubesOS tomorrow.
… AND THEEENNN:
Was almost about type that the glitch had disappeared but alas, the battle continues.
As with before, shortly after logging in and launching some basic qubes some weird horizontal lines overlay bottom third of screen for a few seconds, flicker and then there is a black screen.
