Sys-usb immediately fails to start

gm! i’m using 4.3-rc1. i’m trying to use sys-usb but i cannot start it. if i run qvm-start sys-usb in dom0 i get Error: Got empty response from qubesd. See journalctl in dom0 for details.. From journalctl i get the same error message with nothing more. i’m new to qubes os

idk if it helps but the services in sys-usb that are selected are minimal-usbvm and in devices i have 00:14.0 PCI_USB: Intel Corporation Cannon Point-LP USB 3.1 xHCI Controller but also 00:1d.4 that says unknown vendor unknown pci device (unknown).

i really have no idea how to proceed. thanks! i’m using a thinkpad x1 carbon g7.

Had simillar issues with a usb wireless mouse.
Had to plug the usb adapter only after login and confirm OK at dom0 pop-up.

When you are selecting the devices click on the buttom button “Configure strict reset for PCI devices” and mark all of them. This basically removes the “strictness” and allows the qube to boot even though the hardware reset does not work.

Just solve similar issue by update dom0 to last testing patches.
