Stuck after install 4.2.3 - Laptop framework AMD 13

I had good luck with this laptop on 4.2.3, here’s my HCL post: Framework 13 with AMD Ryzen 7 7840U, R4.2.3

Your symptoms don’t match anything I saw exactly, but this is what I would look at:

  • Was system clock set correctly in BIOS before doing install?
  • Did you do the install with kernel-latest? It’s an option in boot menu
  • Did you add ioapic_ack=new to get the touchpad fixed?
  • What WiFi card do you have? The MediaTek one sometimes would make sys-net take several minutes to start. Maybe wait longer? Get an Intel AX210 instead.
  • Try to press escape. Sometimes that hides the splash screen and you can see what’s actually happening.
