Should we revisit the idea of suspend-to-disk Qubes guest snapshots (with RAM and CPU state)?

For years the verdict was “too many security tradeoffs not worth dealing with”, but maybe?

I’d find those useful, personally.

If the answer is not a firm yes, then it is not worth doing.

I’d be interested to know what these were… Is there some discussion online? Was it something in Xen?

I have a few qubes where it would be great to be able to preserve runtime state across dom0 reboots.

Edit: I bet it requires a HUGE chunk of Xen code to be added to the TCB. Small is beautiful, and beauty before bells and whistles.

Xen DOES support it, but Qubes intentionally dropped this feature. Was discussed here couple of times, but I do not have thread links for now.
