Having trouble getting debian 10 to update, I saw the info on the #6585 update issue and thought to try that only to discover that my root password is not working even though I have it written down, is it possible to reset the root password?
Try :
qvm-run -u root
From that terminal you should be able to install or modify anything in the template. There is a package for qubes passwordless root access. If you need a password you can just change it there.
