I don’t have wifi drivers/devices on my pc, so I want to get a wifi dongle. I understand that some may not be compatible with this os, can you guys recommend a cheap but good quality dongle. Thanks.

I tend to tinker with things, so I try to get ones that have frame injection and monitor mode support. The last one I used was ALFA AWUS036ACS
That said, remember that what matters is the support by drivers in the netvm - which is not really anything specific to Qubes. With very few exceptions (none that I’m aware of) you should be able to check any list of dongles well-supported by Linux and do just fine with it - no need for any special consideration for Qubes*
- The only exception here is the topic of open source vs binary blob drivers. Not unique to Qubes, but some Qubes users probably have stronger opinions (binary blob == bad, to sum it up…)

I got the tp link wn722n v4 since it was cheap. When trying to download drivers there was only mac and windows options.
Is this type not compatible?

As I mentioned, you’re not in need of Qubes support - just plain old Linux support - as long as you know how to attach the device to your AppVM
The reason lsusb/lspci were suggested as a step, by the way, is because the information there will help you determine the underlying chipset used by the device. The driver you need will need to be designed for supporting that chipset
