in which talk was this mentioned? Edit: oh in this one? Qubes OS 4.3 development update :: Qubes OS Summit 2025 :: pretalx I don’t recall it mentioning incremental backups. I gotta check the video again.

Yes. 1st one. More details in the video. But let’s say, I know about this for a long time from other sources

what might be the timelines for wyng incremental backups backed into QubesOS? QubesOs v5?

I guess it is a question for @tasket. But they have not visited forum for a long time.

On the other hand, this could be a relatively time consuming task with many corners to cover. It might be hard to provide an accurate timeline. Backups are very sensitive issue.

Just forgot to mention that Rafał Wojdyła (omeg) who was a former member of core-team who is currently working on QWT has joined the core-team once again officially.

I would have to guess “something after Qubes 4.3, assuming they’re still interested”. Funding for Wyng development (i.e. the major features on the v0.9 roadmap) is up in the air, but for now v0.8 has reached release candidate stage and its fairly easy to install.
