This new series of Intel Arc Pro GPUs family is now on the market and I was wondering if Qubes OS could benefit too from this: have gpu “Slices” mounted in vms as he is doing in proxmox. If you have any ideas on that or if similar features exist elsewhere already. Here is what inspired me to wirte this post: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AChxR3iiYN8&t=51s
What they might ‘provide’ with those cards is ‘free’ SR-IOV.
Which means you might able to slice it and provide those GPU slices to VMs with the ‘conventional’ PCI-Passtrough. - with all it’s pros and cons.
And AMD already providing the same with their Radeon PRO cards, however they are much more expensive…
However, as they just ‘come together’ with NVIDIA, these new cards might end up in the bin… Especially as the current Intel ARC cards are not even close to their ‘competitors’ regarding performance.

Yes, any standard KVM + qemu + libvirt (running on any Linux distribution) can utilise such card…
The only question is the price of such GPU and it’s performance they provide.
