Hello,
I’ve been trying to troubleshoot an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad Gen 2 E14 but haven’t had any success so far. After attempting various solutions without success, I decided to reach out for assistance.
Device Specifications:
- Model: Lenovo ThinkPad Gen 2 E14
- Processor: Intel i7 11th Gen
- RAM: 32GB
Issue Details: I have attempted to install Qubes OS using various methods and different USB drives. While the installation appears to be successful, I’m encountering several problems:
- Unknown Device: Initially, an unknown device was detected (install.img and /sys) but it seemed to resolve itself after some checks.
- Virtualization Errors: After, Despite enabling Intel Virtualization and VT-d in the BIOS, I still receive errors when trying to run Qubes “unsupported hardware detected”
- Installation on USB: I managed to install Qubes on a 64GB USB drive. Even after both “issues” I could still press ok and installed qubes It seems to work, but I had to set the system firewall and other components to “PV” mode.
- Connectivity and VM Issues: I can connect to the internet; however, I’m unable to launch AppVMs or TemplateVMs. Given that I’m using a 64GB USB, I don’t believe storage space is the issue. All settings are configured to “PV” mode.
Steps Taken:
- Enabled Intel Virtualization and VT-d in BIOS.
- Tried multiple installation methods and USB drives.
- Configured system firewall and other settings to “PV” mode.
Request: I would appreciate any guidance or suggestions to resolve these issues and successfully run Qubes OS on my Lenovo ThinkPad.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Best regards,
