Hello folks,
I want to acquire another laptop on which I want to install and use Qubes. Unfortunately, the budget is not too big and based on prices my only options are:
- Lenovo ThinkBook 16 G8 - Intel® Core™ 7 240H, 16" WUXGA, IPS, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB SSD, Intel® Graphics
- Lenovo ThinkBook 16 G8 IRL - same config;
- Lenovo ThinkBook 16 G9 IRL - same config;
( I don’t think there is a big difference between the versions though)
Did anyone try to install any Qubes version (maybe the newest one 4.3)? Is everything going well?
If this is not ok, what would be other options? (What CPU?)

With Intel Core Ultra series 2 (I assume this is one of them), you may have a problem for PCI devices that start with 0000:80: they are not able to be PCI passthroughed to a Qube. This could be an issue if you have your network card there or the USB controllers. A temporary solution exists with a patch to libvirt to apply and compile.
I would be very curious of seeing a lspci -nn on it.

Yeah, unfortunately, I can’t test it before ordering it.
Anyway, I am not stuck on Lenovo ThinkBook 16 Gx IRL but I need something around 1000euro. This is the budget, I’m afraid… and I don’t know what to choose.
