Hi friends. I’m trying to install Qubes. I selected “Install Qubes” and 9 lines appeared with the green word [OK], the last 3 had the name of my 3 internal hard drives.
I’ve waited more than 15 minutes but nothing else appears, I pressed enter and esc and it didn’t work. Should I wait longer? Should the Qubes installer appear automatically or something?
I’m using a USB drive 3.0 (16 gb) connected to a blue USB 2.0 port, with last QubesOS ISO with Ventoy.
My PC is: i5-3470 (4 cores), nvidia gtx 1050 ti (4gb), 16 gb ram, motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-D2H-USB3 motherboard (rev. 1.1).
It’s probably this issue with nvidia driver in kernel 6.6.48+:
You can try to boot in the installer and the installed Qubes OS later with nouveau.modeset=0 kernel command line option added in GRUB like this: Autostart troubleshooting | Qubes OS
But add nouveau.modeset=0 instead of qubes.skip_autostart.
Or you can use the Intel iGPU instead of nvidia since it’s more than enough for Qubes OS and you won’t get any benefits in using nvidia instead of iGPU in dom0 since the GPU in dom0 is not used for hardware acceleration in the qubes: Frequently asked questions (FAQ) | Qubes OS
