Qubes Backup - Cannot select Android MTP storage

Hi Qubes Community,

I want to backup my qubes directly to my Android storage. My Android phone is connected to sys-usb and I installed the necessary packages so that the storage is available from Thunar, my phone appears on the left side of Thunar like an attached usb storage device and I can browse and copy files.

Unfortunately when I start the backup process and I must select a backup destination I cannot select the phone, it say it is not local storage… I have to do the backup to sys-usb and then copy it to the phone.

Any fixes or workarounds for this?

gvfs-mtp, right? I think you could combine that with gvfs-fuse to make a mountpoint out of it that can be used by arbitrary programs (including Qubes OS backup) that aren’t aware of GVfs.
