Qube automatically restarts when shutdown?

I have a Qube that automatically restarts when its shut down. The only way to stop that is to emergency pause the Qube, then kill it.

Anyone seen this before? What’s the likely cause of this?

I saw this on a Windows qube with a defective QWT installation - some problem with qrexec communication, but I can’t recall the details anymore. The problem went away with the current QWT version.

It happened to me as well. Was patient until few updates…

After shutting down a “appvm” windows qube and having it restart, doing a “sudo journalctl --since today | grep -i qrexec” in dom0 shows me that the qube did a “qubes.NotifyTools+” request, but then nothing.

What solved it for me was pretty easy:

  1. Clone the windows appVM qube to a new name
  2. Use the new clone instead of the orignial
