Hello,
i have two SSDs with two different LVM volumes.
I have on both ones performance issues in some vms to read files with qubes that write a lot.
My disposables that are on one SSD are based upon a template with about 35GiB private storage and about 20 GiB system storage.
On a second SSD i have a qube with about 1500 GiB System storage.
I write (and delete) about 50-200 GiB per day in both the disposable vms and the qube with 1500 GiB storage on the second SSD.
The qubes have enough ram and 5 CPU cores that are not busy unless i read.
When i open firefox or start journalctl this takes about 15-30 seconds. On other qubes that write less they almost start instantly.
Shuting down/starting qubes is also slow.
Dom0 becomes slow when i open the menu for total disk usage. The SSDs are about 50% used.
I found this issue Starting up and shutting down VMs recently became extremely slow · Issue #4927 · QubesOS/qubes-issues · GitHub about a big LVM archive. I currently have about 1k entries in /etc/lvm/archive that are about 80M big.
Is there anything i could to to find out why some of my qubes are slow?
