Performance vs efficiency core Intel

Does anybody know the impact of the performance and efficiency cores in Intel cpu? Does qubes recognise the difference and when allocating cores to a qube would it allow you to allocate which type of core for each cube?

I am very curious to know the answer to this as well.

Yes, P and E cores work with qubes, but you need to configure you system with CPU pinning to assign an appVM specific core type.

Thank you very much :slightly_smiling_face:

Using this to pin one of each core type, will the guest OS be aware of the difference between them, in order to use them effectively?

No, that isn’t possible. It would be nice to have that feature, but you don’t really need it.

Qubes OS is not a single OS running many different programs, it’s many OS running a single program each. You have some qubes you want on E cores and some you want on P cores, and that choice doesn’t really change.

Does this seem relevant to your question @Nothing ? (I think it is, but this is not an topic I’m familiar with.)
