PBSC updating a fedora 38 template to a 39 template

I am stuck on step 3 of the instructions for updating a old template to a new one.

The suggested command in the guide returns the following.

Failed to download metadata for repo ‘fedora’: Cannot prepare internal mirrorlist: Status code: 404 for https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=fedora-fedora/39&arch=x86_64 (IP: 127.0.0.1)

I have noticed already a few variations in the guide as I am using an xfce template. So I am certain this is the same thing. Could someone point me in the right direction.

Ive tried fedora/39 fedora-39 with and without xfce. Maybe some one can help with the right syntax.

It seems that you’ve made an error here:

Note: The prompt on each line indicates where each command should be entered: dom0, fedora-<old>, or fedora-<new>, where <old> is the Fedora version number from which you are upgrading, and <new> is the Fedora version number to which you are upgrading.

You the <new> here should have been just 39 but you used something else (fedora-39?) instead e.g. it should be:

sudo dnf --releasever=39 --setopt=cachedir=/mnt/removable --best --allowerasing distro-sync
