Judging by what others have said, I am not alone in wondering why Qubes OS uses Fedora and Debian to provide components such as sys-net and sys-firewall instead of using OpenBSD.
And there are instructions for doing just that, if you want.
So why isn’t it the default setup? Thoughts, please.
I am not a qubesos developer, nor do I have system admin expertise. But from an outsider look, it seems like using fedora or debian on sys-net and sys-firewall seems to simplify the developers’ work? Everything officially supported in qubesos is either fedora or debian – only two very similar linuxes to write and maintain the qubesos code for.
