Hi,
Does somebody has the NUC Box from NovaCustom already and is using it with Qubes OS? I would like to switch to it but need a very stable system for working with my clients.
Currently using a T480 with 64GB as my daily machine with Qubes on it, but the CPU performance is not enough.
Appreciate any information about it. ![]()
I don’t know about Novacustom NUCs, but the System76 meer8 is the one that I own and works perfectly.
Although I love its portability, I must tell you that this things overheat a lot under heavy load. Beware of that, because if you run heavy workloads, you’ll likely reach a thermal throttle.
Thank you for the information about the MiniPC from System76. I am currently in Europe, so only Nitrokey and Novacustom are currently available for me. I don’t want to go through the extra costs and possible issues.
Thank you for the info you shared. ![]()
Yes I saw that the product is not yet certified by NovaCustom, that’s the reason I asked in this forum. I hoped on getting it before that if some people on here already have experience with it without any issues.
I expected to get more responses and already user feedback.
Regarding the TPM, I think fTPM would be ok for me. Or would you say thats a big disadvantage?
That depends on your threat model, use case(s), and workflow.
Hey man, ignore the thing I told you about overheating.
Today I replaced my fan and the thermal paste. When I reached the heatsink, it was FULLY covered in dust. Dude was behaving like a Macbook Air: fanless (xdxdxd).
I’m running 3 windows VMs and 7 Debian VMs with 47º C, no throttle just full speed.
Also I must tell you I set up my fan to the max speed in the BIOS.
Sorry for the wrong statement I told you 3 days ago.
