Complete noob here, just installed qubes on a fairly old pavillion (like 4 to 5 years old) works fine but after trying to do some updates I restarted the computer and after entering the disc decryption password the os took so long to open that this messages appeared. As you can see I pushed on “enter” a couple of times thinking something was wrong and by the time I pressed Ctrl D I got the second picture. When Installing the verification phase fumbled a lot (failed at around 4.5%) and I read it was because I got the ISO from Windows so I just installed and it worked.
Not a solution. But I have just gotten the exact same situation. Unable to update one of my vms, that qubes showed an available update for. Tried about seven times with no success. Finally rebooted my desktop system, which is on the latest fedora version and now the startup process repeatedly stops at the initramfs message. Will not go any further.
Two more complete shutdowns and boots and the system is now back up and running. The supposed update still fails with an error message of the update returning a non-zero exit status. Will see if situation corrects itself.
did you ever fix this? I’m having the same thing and I’m worried I’ve lost all my bitcoin.
