NetworkManager Icons flickering/partly not shown on NovaCustom NV41PZ

@novacustom We use a NV41 with a fresh Q4.2 install and the icons of NetworkManager (in the area that would be called “systray on windows”) do partly vanish/flicker in Q4.2. We have not seen such issues on Lenovo Thinkpads. Is that something that you have seen before?

No problem here on a 4.2.4 Qubes OS / NV41.

What is your sys-net template? Do you have a usb-c hub connected? What is the output of sudo ip l in sys-net when the icon is not present?

Hi!

I haven’t seen before. Is your sys-net Fedora based?

Are you running Qubes OS R4.2.4?

its not really “not present”, its rather partly “not visable”, so it does still use the space in the tray and is not simply removed or crashed.

I will check the other ones later, I don’t have the device here right now.

Have you tinkered with desktop themes (colors, icons, etc.)? I’m also using an NV41PZ. Haven’t seen anything like this.

I did check again today. It seems, that the icons “hide” if the mouse cursor is near and they do not show up again afterwards

The net-vms are based on fedora-40 (in fact it’s wifi + ethernet + vpn sys-nets)
no USB-C hub connected

sys-firewall should have network manager too, is the icon behaving weirdly too? Is it using the same template as sys-net?

No, sys-firewall does not have NetWorkManager in systray, same for my thinkpad (that does not have the invisible icon issue).
Only lan, wifi and vpn vms have NetworkManager icons.
