I’m planning to order this motherboard… can anyone please clarify if the above issues resolved or not. and also is the gpu passthrough has any issues with the pcie 5.0 and 4.0 ones
FWIW google says the msi mag z890 tomahawk wifi7 should have one of the bests(if the not the best) IOMMU groups isolation.
Maybe someone from the devs could comment on this please
There is no HCL report for 4.3.1, which is currently the latest version of Qubes OS, so the only clarification possible is from testing and reporting back with your empirical findings.
Why is there no report of this HCL in the Hardware compatibility list (HCL) | Qubes OS ? is it by qubes os version? if so, how do I check compatibility list for previous version of qubes os?
I hope you understand that buying something for 3.5k $$$ for TESTING is not an option for many people, including me
There is no longer any designated HCL maintainer, so the HCL is not current. If you are planning to order the motherboard with these known issues, then you will likely need to troubleshoot them or not rely on those functionalities to begin with.
This doesn’t sound right on so many levels though… It could be the person reporting the HCL just didn’t do something right, or the time the HCL report was the kernel didn’t have something because the motherboard was new at the time etc etc…
Because otherwise it’s absurd… how can I not rely on sys-usb for example… it makes no sense

I know there are many people here who use qubes with gpu passthrough for example, how did you pick your motherboard? what do I need to look for in order to guarantee the gpu passthrough???
AI gives me very contradicting answers… this is what it said:

I am so lost… I like qubes os so much and wanted to take it into another level by buying a good PC with good amount of ram and gpu so I could do local AI etc etc…
I don’t see an HCL entry for this exact motherboard. You could reach out to individuals who submitted reports on similar boards and ask about their experience with upgrading to r4.3.1. It wouldn’t be definitive, but may provide enough info to justify purchase before submitting the first HCL.
