feb 3, help, few days ago new install of 4.3, and many hours of restoration and configuration, finally getting to setting up qubes-u2f , in global config something happened and kbd no longer was usable in any VM, but USB mouse was ; so I rebooted sys-usb , kbd still not responsive and then mouse also, so had to hard reboot,
NOW I can use kbd for LUKS but it is unresponsive at User Login lightDM ; I really don’t want to reinstall and restore again.
is there some kind of rescue sequence, I’m not that advanced of a user

add1: I am able to change kernels and login to dom0 however, all dom0 terminal commands like qvm-ls are throwing qubesd_call python3 errors in purple
qubesadmin.exc.QubesDaemonCommunicationError: failed to connect to qubesd service

add2: I went ahead and changed 50-qubes.input-policy which were all “deny” to all “allow”
and booted back off the original .63 kernel which allows lightDM login
but the qubesadmin.exc communication daemon remains broken …
add3: ok did #systemctl status qubesd ; which fixed the #qvm-ls errors , however ; do I somehow now have a corrupted system?
sys-net, sys-firewall, and the taskbar icon tray are not starting
can’t qvm-start VM ; error: logical volume “vm-sys-net-volatile” already exists in volume group “qubes_dom0” so
removed the -volatile volume and rebooted machine, now I see
check of pool qubes_dom0/vm-pool failed Manual repair required!

*while trying to setup u2f in qubes global config , i had added the VMs I wanted to use the service, while that window was open , one of the added VMs, in qubes manager I changed the name of the VM ; maybe this was the genesis of this meltdown fwiw
…end of the story, is, i think the install was doomed anyway, as I have 2 nvme drives one is 250g one is 1tb , i noticed in attempting to use both, i think the full install went to the 250g nvme, it said ext4 on it, so ; please disregard the above other than for amusement.
part X: after trying to reinstall 3x ; after reboot the system was failing after luks dropping to black screen ctl+d to continue , initramfs failure, finally I just physically removed the smaller nvme in the machine, but also changed to legacy boot, and now it is finishing the install, but its not an UEFI boot install, so may have to do it yet again, hopefully not creating another time sink or some permanent inability to install , the USB stick written in rufus never did pass the “check media” choice, so way too many hoops getting installation media secure, why doesn’t Qubes just sell some, IMO
