Hello, I’m trying to install 4.3 on my new thinkpad and unfortunately it’s just not working out and im not sure what else i can do.The initial install completes from usb but when i try and install from latest kernel it just gets stuck on booting screen. I was doing some research and came across someone having luck on a gen12 by installing using kernel 6.8 but i don’t know how to install a kernel to an iso file using windows without the fear of compromising opsec. if anyone can help me out with this id really appreciate it! thank you.
If we split installation process to steps:
- Installation (Disks, user name, disk encryption and etc.)
- Post-installation - Installation guide — Qubes OS Documentation
- Main Configuration
the problem is during the post installation process after selecting install using latest kernel, removing “quiet”, and adding “nomodeset=0”. it’ll ask me for my encryption pass, i’ll enter it. then it’ll get stuck on this screen
Maybe this issue related:
- Can you check your installation media? second option in boot process.
- First installation process ended without any errors? (maybe it good idea to repeat first installation path and follow it for any small errors.)
I’ve tried to do what I can in terms of troubleshooting to the best of my abilities right now, but unfortunately I just can’t seem to figure out how to solve this issue by myself. I hate to say it but I might need a dumbed down version of how to fix it like a step-by-step type of deal. I’m usually pretty good with being able to research things and fix them by myself but with this I had to create an account on this forum and reach out to anyone that’s experienced something like this.

I’ve gotten through this step no issues, it’s directly after reboot starting the next process that just doesn’t work out for me giving me the error that I’ve posted above.
You have very recent CPU, Intel ultra 200 V - right?

Explained here:
Will do, I’ll give it a try here in a little bit and post an update
Did you try connecting a display to the HDMI/DP output?
Xorg could be defaulting to a different display device/output than the internal display.
Hi, were you able to resolve your issue?
Did you get any output on the external display port?
Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Does sleep mode work?
Does anyone else have experience with newer Lenovo laptops, such as the T and P series?
Or even with Panther Lake devices?
Using the latest weekly release with 6.19 kernel, I was able to install and run everything with no issues.
Hello @Mister is sleep mode also working stable?
How long is your system running on battery?
Would you like to mention any additional things you would pay attention to with the laptop?
Thanks
