First, I encountered this error message during the Qubes installation. Since that issue has been resolved, I’ll move on to the main topic. After installation, sys-usb can no longer mount external SSDs or USB drives. Is there a solution for this problem?
See the recent thread on “Risks of allowing drives to mount in sys-usb
in 4.3”.
As I said in that thread I dont see this behavior with a stock
debian-13-xfce template - can you say what template you are using for sys-usb?
I never presume to speak for the Qubes team.
When I comment in the Forum I speak for myself.
I’m using Fedora 42 Xfce.
I read the thread about the risks of allowing drive mounting to sys-usb in 4.3.
I will attempt a reinstallation by changing the default template to Debian.
I tried reinstalling using Debian as the base template, but unfortunately, after the installation error I showed you earlier, I was unable to mount the USB drive to sys-usb.
Open a terminal - sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt (adjust as appropriate for
your drive.)
