I’m going through the process of installing ISO for Kali, a Debian ISO (which was previously used for a work script in Virtual Box and I dont seem to simply be able to install the script in our Debian Template Terminal).
Kali went perfectly. Now I’m struggling with the Debian one at the mirror setup stage, is it possible i’m not booting from the complete iso image?
Also I was wondering if there is any way to install CSI Linux in Qubes.
I’ve just tried it using Debian 12.5 netinst image that I had and it worked for me when I’ve configured the network settings like this:
IP - 10.137.0.x
Netmask - 255.255.0.0
Gateway - 10.137.0.y
DNS - 10.139.1.1
still not working. I keep getting that this is not a bootable drive even after installing everything and rebooting. I installed Kali the exact same way, that’s just why Im wondering where I’m going wrong. I have plently of disk space and RAM. Thank you
I’ve done it again. GRUB installed on same partition and still getting thatnon-bootable error message after the whole install. Any other ideas whyits’s giving me this? Thank you
I’ve tried installing debian-12.6.0-amd64-netinst.iso on /dev/xvda and installed GRUB on the same disk and it worked for me.
Describe all your installation steps in details to see what did you do wrong.
Hello , why do you want absolutly install netinst.iso and not simply .iso ?
I have tried several linux ( and even Windows 7)and it works good …( in sallone qube of cause).
Sorry for not answering for a little bit, I had gone on vacation. I did try to install the iso and not the netinst.iso. I installed GRUB on the same partition that I was installing the .iso.
Here are my main steps:
1)Build a Standalone Qube and give more than enough RAM and storage. Boot from .iso file that is in another Qube.
2)enter the qubes info that are in settings when asked for network config
Then the rest is pretty much the same steps as I had done to install kali linux without any problem.
What ISO did you try to install?
Did you try to install both system and GRUB on /dev/xvda?
Post the output of these commands in dom0 terminal for your qube:
