Is there a reason why there's limited likes?

I’m not sure if there’s a reason why there’s limited likes on the forums. but I find it quite odd given the format. I like liking posts I agree with or found helpful and insightful. I don’t know why I have a 24hr cap on something like that. Yeah, for “rep farming”, I guess… But does the rep does anything here? Is there a reason why someone should only have 50 likes instead of 100 (for example)?

Exactly. The limit increases with forum usage. It’s to prevent spam liking.
